Coevolution occurs when two or more species reciprocally affect each other's evolution. Unpalatable butterflies flying together with strikingly similar yet unrelated species of palatable species, the mimics, gained protection from predators by resemblance to unpalatable species, the models, and that the similarity between the two groups was the result of evolution by natural selection.
